Superhero stories

Last term Y5C worked on writing superhero stories.  Here are a few extracts:

From the hustle and bustle in the concrete jungle, Thunder Bolt peered down from the Empire State Building. He gazed out into the distance to see a blue sky and fluffy white clouds. Even though he was focused on the blue yonder, Thunder Bolt sensed danger in the glowing Times Square.

It was an ordinary day in New York like usual. Cab drivers arguing; large crowds of people pushing and shoving like three year olds and the taste of hot-dogs wafting through the air. Until suddenly the beautiful sunlight flew away like a bird. The light blue sky turned into a solid black colour. Thousands of people ran into the nearest shops, letting out deafening screams.

"Hey, are you blind?" screamed the angry taxi driver, punching his fist. An old man, who had just left hospital walked in pain away from the cab.  The man stumbled next to Starbucks cafe. A shadow was in a corner, it looked ugly, someone was following him but who?..

As Spiderwick glanced over the edge of the Empire State Building, she felt like a giant towering over the chaotic ants.  The bright, yellow sun was dancing its way through the New York skyline.  So peaceful! Then suddenly the bright, yellow sun stopped dancing.  The peacefulness was destroyed by a loud siren noise.  The neon billboard switched off. Underneath and above it was as dark as a vampire's cape. Dogs were barking, people were yelling.
"My spider senses are tingling" exclaimed Spiderwick with curiosity.
