Swimming Success - a report by Emily Webb

Last Friday, Milly and I went to Easton Leisure Centre to represent St Josephs in a Bristol Swimming Gala.

It started at 1:30 and I swam front crawl, breast stroke, and I also swam a medley (which was fly, back, breast and front crawls). I came first in the front crawl and breast stroke and third in the medley.

Milly swam the back stroke, breast stroke and front crawl. She came first in the backstroke, second in breast stroke and fourth in the front crawl.

We had a great time and are very proud of our success.

Playground Beatitudes written by Johann in Year 6

Our playground Beatitudes

Blessed are the people who prevent arguments; they shall have many friends.

Blessed are those who are honest; they shall be trusted.

Blessed are the buddies; God shall keep them safe.

Blessed are the people who are bullied; they will receive help.

Blessed are those who wear a frown on their face; may their frowns turn into smiles.

Blessed are those who are lonely; they shall be included.

Blessed are those who share; God will share his greatness and love.

Blessed are those who forgive; God will give them a pure heart.

Blessed are the people who include others in their games; God will include them in his plan.

Reception Celebrate Holi.

The festival of colours

Holi is the Hindu festival that welcomes the Spring and celebrates the new life and energy of the season.

Holi is a colourful festival, with dancing, singing, and throwing of powder paint and coloured water.

Bonfires are lit and roasting grains, pop corn, coconut and chick peas are thrown on by Hindu families.

People of all ages go into the streets for fun and paint-throwing. Everyone gets involved - with no distinctions between ethnicity, class, age or gender.

Hindus have fun by smearing each other with paint and throwing coloured water at each other, all done in a spirit of celebration

Happy Holi!
