Goodbye Year 6

Today we said goodbye to Year 6, we wish them all the very best in the future!

Award Ceremony for Silver and Gold Award Schools.

Choir trip to St. Georges, Brandon hill.

On the 7th of July on the choir day, the entire choir went on a great trip to St. Georges Brandon hill to try and win our gold. We taught and sang songs to different schools!
When we arrived we had a pick nick and played lots of different playground games. Mrs Marsh videoed us as we played games and said ” I’ll try and put this on the blog.”
Then we eventually got inside the massive building and Laurie Gethin (SingUp Area Leader) did some warm ups with us- even Bridie’s mum joined in! There was a special guest called Suzie Digsby OBE from ‘Last Choir Standing.’
We enjoyed standing on stage and performing.
We sang ‘I turned on the tap’ and ‘Gospel medley’.
A different school also sang a song we know, called ‘Janie Mama’ and another school sang ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands’ in French!
We all enjoyed listening to other schools performing. We got a certificate, a sing up pencil, a badge and some of us got a sing up top.
We really enjoyed every thing!

Summer Festival

A big thank you to everybody involved in organising a second fantastic Summer Festival. As we were setting up, earlier in the day, the clouds were dark and there was the occasional shower. In the end the sun came out and everybody had a great day out. Our dedicated PTFA did an amazing job and I hope they are all now relaxing at home feeling very proud of what they achieved.

A Blast from the Past

This afternoon the whole school enjoyed the first performance of Year 6s 'A Blast from the Past'.
Amazing!!! Parents are in for a real treat.

Celebrating Attendance

Today we celebrated the classes and children who had achieved the highest attendance.
Mr Conlon's class and Mrs Mantle's class were the highest attending classes in the school.

Many achieved 98% and lots of children managed 99% attendance.

Several children even managed 100% attendance and they are being treated to a special tea party to celebrate. Well done!

Well done everyone for your high attendance!

Star Radio - School of the Week

Next week St Joseph's will be Star Radio's School of the Week. Sarah and Helen came in from Explore Learning and led an assembly, asking children why their school is special. One child said, "we are one big family." Martin from Star Radio then recorded the choir perform and interviewed children and myself.
