Being safe in school

In this morning's assembly, Mr Condon is reminding all children what to do if there is a problem in school. To help he is using the guidance written earlier this year by the School Council -

Dealing with Problems in School

We expect every pupil to take responsibility for looking after each other and being there for everyone!

Someone on their own –

We expect everyone in the school to ask them if they are OK. Perhaps ask them to join in and play. If that does not help ask Buddies for advice.

Children who argue -

Get Buddies to help as they have been trained to help with children who do not get on with each other.

Children hurting each other –

Tell a member of staff immediately.

If you think someone is being bullied –

If you feel able to, point out to the bully what they are doing – they might not have realised they were bullying. Always tell a member of staff who will tell the Headteacher. Befriend the child who is being bullied.

Monster art

Y5/6C have created their own monster art. The class spent some time exploring oil pastels and studying Expressionism art, before creating a final design.

Studying and exploring monster art

Y5/6C have studied Monsters in art as part of their 'Monster project'. We used ideas from these studies to create some drawings of our own.

Catch the monsters!

In Maths Y5/6C have been looking at factors. The children were set the challenge of finding all the factors for given numbers in order to catch the monster.

Eddie learnt that these dragonflies have got legs but can't walk. They are also the fastest flying insect.

The wonderful circus poem

Today, year 1 were looking at poems. In groups, we made up our own part of a poem about the circus. We put it together and made a big poem. We hope you like it.

The seals balancing 100 balls on their noses.
Ar! Ar! Ar!
The ballerina balancing on a tightrope.
La di da did da!
the clowns squeezing their noses.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
The lions jumping through hoops.
Roar! Roar! Roar!
The acrobats swings swinging.
Whoosh! ...Whoosh! ...Whoosh!
The ring master telling them what to do.
"Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!"
The elephants making a pyramid.
Trumpet! Trumpet! Trumpet!
Horses trotting in a circle.
Trot! trot! trot!
The monkeys riding on a bike.
Oo oo ahh ahh!
The strongman carrying a car.
Arrghhh! Arrgghhh!

LEARNING DETECTIVES VISIT TO BRISTOL MET

Last Tuesday four Learning Detectives (Rachel, Evie, Nadia and Ollie) went to Bristol Metropolon Academy where we talked about our experience as Learning Detectives. We made our own speeches and performed them to 24 teachers in the morning. Also with very short notice we did it in the afternoon to over 25 teachers from primary and secondary schools.

Ollie talked about how we became Learning Detectives, Evie talked about what a visit to a class looks like, Nadia talked about how we give feedback to the class and Rachel talked about how we are going to develop Learning Detectives.

We all did very well and we want to say thank you to Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Rollings and Mr. Condon who also took place in the presentation.
