St Fagans

Today Y5C enjoyed a trip to St Fagans National History Museum, as part of our 'Back to the future' project. Here we saw many different buildings from different periods in time. We visited an 1880's shop, a Tudor farmhouse and many other original buildings moved from various parts of Wales and re-erected to show how people lived throughout the past centuries.

Reception are learning how to take responsibility for their own learning.

We have 1 literacy and maths challenge each week. We choose when to complete our challenge independently, and then put it in our individual learning wallet. This then goes into our learning journey.
We are getting VERY good at this!

Modern day photos of Fishponds placed on to an old map

As part of their 'Back to the future' project Y5C have been looking at how Fishponds has changed over time. Using ICT, the children have taken photographs of places in Fishponds today and then placed them on to an old map. As well as ICT skills the task required them to carefully study maps in order to put the photos in the correct places. Can you spot our school?

Nile went on to find old photos of Fishponds and place them on to a modern day satellite image.

Reception looking at The Gingerbread Man story.

In the story of The Gingerbread Man, the GIngerbread Man does not want to get wet. We are discovering why.
Some children think "he won't taste very nice if he gets wet". Others think "he will melt".
Look at what happened...
"He's gone mushy!"
"He's soft and wobbles"
We learnt a new word... 'Disolve'
