Polli:Nation Project

Barbara came to talk to the school this morning to tell us about the in-school Polli:Nation programme that we have joined.  This is a project developed in response to the decline in the UK's pollinating insects and the demand from schools to broaden children's understanding of the links between pollination and food security and learn about protecting insect pollinators and their habitats. The children were really responsive to her presentation asking and answering lots of questions.  We are one of four schools in Bristol taking part in this project.  We're starting today by conduction a survey of pollinators around the school grounds.  Further information can be found at: http://www.polli-nation.co.uk/

Year Six Aquinas Retreat

year Six went to St Brendan's College today to take part in a retreat day with other year side children in our catholic cluster.  The theme was Mercy and Caring for our environment.
The children took part in a range of workshops, from meditating through clay to dance and even pavement art.
As always, our children were a credit to the school.
