Y5C have continued to explore electricity in science lessons. The class investigated the question -which materials make good electrical conductors? They were then given the challenge of using the 'Back to the future' car to connect a circuit together. The children were inspired by a clip of the film Back to the Future when the characters needed to get power (electricity) to their car. We made our cars from a net after exploring nets in our maths work.

Playground games old and new
Y5C have been having fun exploring playground games old and new as
part of their 'Back to the future' project. The class tried out old
classics such as Conkers, In and out the dusty bluebells, leapfrog and stuck in the mud. The children also taught each other many of the
games they like to play today.

Pop Art
Y5C have been exploring art through the ages from 1950 to the present
day, as part of our 'Back to the future' project. We looked at Pop art and made studies in our art sketchbooks. The children produced some stunning drawings.

DT making future houses
Today Y5C enjoyed designing and making future houses as part of our 'Back to the future' project. We began by thinking about future problems which may impact future design, such as rising sea levels. The class learnt lots about designing and construction. Throughout the day, the children displayed excellent team work and creative thinking.

Fishponds now and then
Y5C have used ICT to place old photos of Fishponds into modern day
ones. The children have carefully matched up photos to create these
stunning images for their 'Back to the Future' project.
