Year 3/4's stories in familiar settings

Mine and Mrs Mantle's Literacy groups have been looking at stories set in places that we are familiar with. This week we've taken our groups out into the playground to see how it can be so different when it is empty and when it is full with children!

We then used this as inspiration to write the setting of a story. Here is an extract of Agnel's story.

The sky was baby blue with fluffy white clouds in the breezy, cold, peaceful playground. In the background I could hear sirens and motorcycles. Butterflies fluttered around drinking pollen. The autumn leaves swooshed around. Sunlight was beating on the ground. Trucks passed quickly, birds sung their beautiful songs.

Excellent descriptive writing Agnel!
