The Wedding Party

Tomorrow is the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. This week the reception class have been learning all about weddings. Today the reception class had a big party and the whole school was invited to come! At the party the children talked about what they had learned about weddings, there was sandwiches and biscuits with icing on them that the class had made, and some children even acted out parts of the wedding ceremony. Lets hope Will and Kate's wedding goes as well as our party!

Working on animations

Y4C have been working hard to create their own animations. The class wrote stories and produced storyboards, before working in groups to animate a chosen story. The children had lots of brilliant ideas in how they could bring their stories to life.

Manga Art

Y4C have been exploring Manga art (Japanese comic book style animation) as part of their animation project. The children enjoyed creating their own Manga characters, producing some fantastic designs.

Thaumatropes

Y4C have been looking at and made their own Thaumatropes. This early animation was a popular toy in the Victorian times. A disk or card with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string. When the strings are twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to combine into a single image.
