Yesterday, Year Six went to Leigh Woods to take part in a play and design day organised by the National Trust. They had a great day finding out about the woodland environment and how a play area should complement its surroundings. They made up games and had the opportunity to design and make a prototype of play equipment they thought would work in the woods, taking into account the materials, who it would be for and how to make it safe. All the designs and prototypes will be shared with the National trust designers as they think about what the new play area will look like. It was a great day, the weather held off and, as usual, the children were a credit to the school.
